Nigeria Immigration Service Addresses Issue of Passport Booklet Scarcity.

Nigeria immigration service has revealed plans to bring to an end issues of passport booklet scarcity has learned.

The acting comptroller-general of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Isa Idris during a media interaction, blamed the challenge of delayed passport production on the COVID-19 pandemic , the associated global lockdown, and also the difficulty in accessing foreign exchange in the country.

According to him, efforts are being put in to address the delay with the launch of the enhanced e-passport, which he noted has improved features. He added that the delay in passport processing due to booklet scarcity will be resolved by March.
