Bread makers Association of Nigeria Begins 4-Day warning Strike.

Bread makers Association of Nigeria is reportedly set to begin it’s four – day warning Strike today Thursday July 21, 2022 has learned.

The strike decision was taken by the Premium Bread makers Association of Nigeria (PBAN), which consist of owners, Managing Directors and Partners of premium bakeries in Nigeria, due to steady and daily increment in prices of baking materials and the high cost of diesel in the country. 

The entrepreneurs disclosed that it has become almost impossible to operate bakeries in country, as the Government keep charging a 15% Wheat development levy on wheat importation.

Emmanuel Onuorah President of the Association and Public & Industrial Relations Officer,  Babalola Thomas respectfully requested that  NAFDAC reviews downwards its penalty of N154,000 charge on bakeries as regards late renewal of certificates.

The association also called for an end to the idea of multiple agencies regulating the breadmaking industry, as well as asking the federal government to grant its registered members access to grants and soft loans being issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Minor, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs).
