Archbishop Patrick Ebosele Ekpu was born in Uromi on 26th of October 1931 and was ordained Bishop at the popular Holy Cross Cathedral in Benin metropolis.
In 2021, he marked his 50th Episcopal Anniversary,1975: April 6, Founded the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
Moreso , on the 29th of June 1994 he Received Pallium from the Holy See, 23rd July 1994 he Became First Metropolitan Archbishop of the See of Benin City.
On 21st Nov. 2006 , He Retired as Archbishop of Benin City.
