Clergyman with Holy S3MEN Sentenced to 8 years in Prison for Rape.

A clergyman Apostle Desmond Eke has been condenmed by a High Court sitting in Owerri, to eight years detainment for r@ping the spouse of a member of  his congregation.

Eke, the pioneer behind Deliverance Ministry of The Good Shepherd, Umuihita Avu, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, was indicted by Hon. Equity T.N. Nzeukwu on July 31, 2024.

In Suit No How/32C/2022; State versus Minister Desmond Eke, Hon. Nzeukwu sentenced the denounced after the indictment drove by Mrs. Chioma Emuka, had demonstrated the culpability of the charged for certain.

The convict was blamed for r@ping the 25 year-old mother of four youngsters all the while assuming a pretense of conveying her from a marine soul he guaranteed was going to wipe her whole family.

As per the indictment, minister Desmond Eke managed a substance on the casualty in the pretense of sacred water and blessing oil, which soothingly affected the lady.

She awakened to find herself in the middle of deep penetration by the pastor.

Ohaka argued that his client be placed waiting on the post trial process rather than a full sentence.

Conveying his judgment regarding this situation, Equity Nzeukwu sentenced minister Eke on to count charge of penetrating trust and assaulting the lady, yet released him on the third count which annoys on incurring wounds during the assault.

As indicated by the adjudicator, the casualty was not totally cognizant during the episode so it was basically impossible that wounds could result since she set up no opposition.

The case was accounted for to the police by a civil society organisation, Onurube foundation  and regardless of all tension and danger, they followed it up until judgment was conveyed.

Responding to the judgment, the convener of Onurube, Marjorie Ezihe, commended the court for the conviction, adding that it will act as a hindrance to other people.

The convict was attempted under the Viciousness Against People Forbiddance (VAPP) Demonstration of Imo State, and is the main effective conviction under the law
