Gulder Ultimate Search Nigeria’s very first 100 per cent local content reality show, officially begins today September 26. It is the 11th season and was announced on the GUS official Instagram page on Saturday where a video of the selection training process was uploaded.
The reality show also widely known as GUS, dominated the airwaves in the early 2000s. and it is proudly Sponsored by Nigerian Breweries. The show which is based on the contestant’s individual ‘survival of the fittest’ instict held its first edition held in 2004. Earlier, the organisers were said to have announced that the show themed, “The Age of craftsmanship”, will commence on October 16 and run till December 19. but with this new development, the show is coming earlier than expected. The application process ended on the 10th day of september, and qualified applicants have gone through the regional selection process and stayed in bootcamps in Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos.
The past winners of the show are : Kunle Remi was the winner of the 7th edition of the show in 2010. Dennis Okike winner of the season 8 edition , Chris Okagbue, winner of season 10 . The winner of the last edition of the show held in 2014, Chinedu Ubachukwu, took home a cash prize of N10m and an SUV. All GUS winners are household names in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, it was reported that the registration website for the Gulder Ultimate Search reality TV show crashed due to the high number of online traffic from prospective applicants who pounced on the website to register for the reality show.
