#TwitterBanInNigeria has reached 200 days with the government having to deal with huge economic & financial Loss.
According to reports , the Nigerian economy has reached a whooping N499.29bn loss since the microblogging platform, was shut down by the government on June 4, 2021.
From the statustics of the NetBlocks Cost of Shutdown Tool, Nigeria economy is said to be losing $250,600 (N104.02m) hourly to the ban on the social media platform. And 4,800 hours makes it 200 days since the renowned social networking site was banned.
The Nigerian Government on June 4 announced the suspension of Twitter after the social media platform deleted a tweet made by sitting President Muhammadu Buhari.
President Buhari during his Independence Day speech, disclosed that the ban would continue until Twitter becomes a registered business [ physical presence, and representation ] in Nigeria.
