The U.S Food and Drug Administration has issued a stern warning to the general world citizens on the use of hand sanitizers with cancer causing ingredient (content)
The FDA announced that it found “totally unacceptable levels of benzene, acetaldehyde and acetal contaminants” as its synonymous to certain fragrance-free hand sanitizer products. it is believed that “Benzene and acetaldehyde may cause a different kind of cancer in humans.” The FDA also said that possible irritation of the upper respiratory tract, skin, and eyes could be caused by Acetal. The health update also included that although the precise risk that emanates from using hand sanitizer with benzene, acetaldehyde, or acetal content is unknown, the food and drug administration recommends consumers do not engage in the use of products polluted with prohibited levels of benzene, acetaldehyde, or acetal.”
U.S center for disease control says World citizens should make use of sanitizers that are alcohol based with at most 60% ethanol. And whn5using soap and water, the hand should be thoroughly washed for 20 seconds.
