WAEC Reveals most Supervisors are part of Examination malpractice Syndicate. #Wassce2022

WAEC Head of Nigeria National Office (HNO) Mr. Patrick Areghan, has revealed from recent findings that most of the supervisors are part of the Exam Malpractice Syndicate.

Mr. Areghan made this known while reacting to some supervisors that compromised in the ongoing school exam nationwide and specifically, one that was arrested and detained in Lagos.

The HNO had last week using the 10 supervisors that were arrested in Lagos, Kano, Beyelsa and Kaduna States for aiding exam fraud, to temporarily add that “most of them were unreliable.”

Areghan also questioned the monetary gains involved that would have prompted the supervisors to betray the ethics of examination conduct.

” don’t know how much they are paying them. We are working with the police and we have picked many supervisors and exam fraudsters.”

According to him, many of the examination candidates are relaying 100% on ‘malpractice ’ and this would lead them to failure as he explained that most of what is posted online is past questions.

Meanwhile total of 1,607,985 million candidates from 20,221 schools are currently writing the school exam. 800,055 are males, and represent 49.76% while 800,724 are females, and represent 50.24%. The candidates are examined in 76 subjects, made up of 197 papers , and about 30,000 practicing senior teachers are acting as supervisors.
