The United States of America has concluded plans to reopen its travelling borders to those travellers ( Air, Land, Sea ) that are fully vaccinated.
Those travelling by air will as a matter of necessity tender a medical proof of vaccination on arrival in the States. They will also show a pre-departure negative (-ve) COVID-19 test taken by them in the space of 3 days of boarding their flight.
Land travellers crossing will be required to also show medical proof of vaccination or simply authenticate their vaccination status when requested to do so by a border agent. Unlike the air travellers they are not required to show a pre- departure negative (-ve) COVID-19 test .
Moreso, details such as :
● type of documentation that will be accepted to prove a traveller’s vaccination status
● whether or not travellers who received doses of two different vaccines will be considered fully vaccinated.
The above are still being worked out by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
The USA government made the important announcement on Friday, 15th of October. The reopening is set to commence on the 8th of November.
Note : affected airlines are to adhere strictly to the instruction that says – any vaccine approved in the U.S, as well as vaccines that have been approved for use by the WHO [World Health Organization] is 100% accepted for air travel.
