Lee Elder the legendary Golfer and first African – American Golfer to have competed in the masters tournament has died at the age of 87.
Lee who was described as a golf legend to the core, broke the boundary of racial discrimination in golfing in 1975 creating opportunities for other upcoming black golfers in the world.
Lee had his best finish at the masters in 1979 securing the 17th position. He was honored this year during his participation at the Masters Opening ceremony in April.
According to reports, the cause of death is still unknown .
