FIFPro11 World XI 23 man shortlist has been revealed, with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah excluded from the FIFA’s star-studded World XI shortlist.
Salah who finished 7th during the voting for the Ballon d’Or award is said to be the highest-ranked player on that list not to make the 23 man squad.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, football Arch-rivals made the list. The duo have 14 World XI awards and will be aiming for a 15th after the reveal of next month’s team .
The FIFPro shortlist was reduced from 55 players to 23, in order to make it look like a tournament squad. The final World XI is to be announced on 17 December .
Professional footballers worldwide were asked to vote for the World 11, by picking out top 3 players who in their point of judgement where the most outstanding players during the 2020/2021 season in the following category – goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards.
