Teachers according to reports will soon receive a boost in their renumeration as well as their conditions of service.
This information was disclosed by Chukwuemeka Uwajiuba the Minister of Education for State, at the Seplat Energy Education Roundtable and STEP Certificate Award ceremony for trained teachers on Thursday March 17 in Benin City, Edo state
The Minister who was dutifully represented by his Technical Adviser, Mrs Muna Onuzo-Adetona, said President Muhammadu Buhari has not relented in making instructive policies to bring about a robust reform in the education sector, especially in the teaching profession, to make it one of a kind nationally relevant, and globally competitive.
The Minister also said that President Buhari has also approved the extension of the retirement age for teachers, from 60 to 65 years, and the length of service from 35 to 40 years, in recognition of the role of teachers in nation-building as regards the society at large.
