Atlanta rapper 2Chainz bounced online to report his exit from his long-term record label Def Jam Records.
The rapper posted a video of himself playing b-ball in Abu Dabi.
“I want to make an enormous declaration. Beginning last week, I’m presently an autonomous artist,” he said. “Truth be told, I’m not re-marking with Def Jam. So think about it like KD or like LeBron — the greatest free agent in the game.”
2chainz previously endorsed to the label back in 2012. Before marking with Def Jam, Chainz was endorsed to Ludacris’ name Upsetting Tha Harmony and ultimately got himself of the agreement.
“I just awakened and said, ‘I would rather not make it happen,'” 2 Chainz said on Regular Strggle at that point. “They told me, ‘You can’t leave like that.’ He said some sh-t about Puffy and Mase. Furthermore, I said, ‘This ain’t no Puffy and Mase.’ And afterward I needed to track down me a legal counselor, and afterward I wound up getting out [of the deal]. I needed to pay him $100k per collection, and I think, another little, similar to a point, which to me, I’ve made $100k so often, it was a very decent arrangement to receive in return.”
