The Truth Behind Trump’s Reparations for White People in Education

President-elect Donald Trump intends to provide reparations to Caucasian individuals who experienced “racial bias” due to DEI initiatives in educational institutions.

In a clip from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump stated, “I will instruct the Department of Justice to pursue civil rights litigations against educational establishments that persist in racial bias.”

Trump is addressing the contentious diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in universities nationwide.

The president-elect indicated he would impose taxes on the endowments of institutions participating in DEI and penalize them billions of dollars. He suggested that a “portion of the confiscated resources will subsequently be allocated as compensation for victims of these unlawful and inequitable practices, practices that have harmed our nation profoundly.”

America First Legal, co-founded by Trump’s future deputy chief of staff for policy, Stephen Miller, has initiated numerous anti-DEI litigations asserting anti-Caucasian discrimination.

Trump further mentioned he will dismantle the Department of Education, established during the Jimmy Carter era in 1979.

The president-elect declared he will delegate all education responsibilities back to the 50 states.

“We want [the states] to oversee the education of our youth because they’ll perform a significantly better job,” Trump remarked.

Abolishing the Department of Education would necessitate congressional consent, but Republicans dominate the House and Senate, in addition to the Supreme Court (the so-called “Trifecta”).

Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross cautions that Trump’s initiative to abolish the Department of Education will adversely affect Black and Brown communities.

However, critics argue that public educational institutions rank at the bottom in global educational systems due to the Department of Education’s liberal policies. Public schools in Black neighborhoods perform the worst. African American students consistently find themselves at the lower end of academic achievement scores.

Trump pledged to further reduce funding for schools that educate on gender identity and inform children that they may be misassigned to their bodies.

The president-elect asserts that “the only genders acknowledged by the U.S. government are male and female, assigned at birth.”
