Napoli is allegedly enraged by Nigerian star striker Victor Osimhen’s choice to reject a transfer to Manchester United this January.
Manchester United is reportedly eager to secure the Nigeria international this month after facing a challenging start to their season.
As per La Repubblica, Osimhen has expressed his intention to remain with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray throughout the entire season, opting not to move to any club this January.
A release clause was included in his agreement when he joined the Yellow and Reds on loan last September, as Napoli was hoping to earn €81m from his transfer this month to enhance their squad.
The 26-year-old, according to the publication, has conveyed to Napoli’s director Giovanni Manna his desire to stay with Galatasaray until the conclusion of the season.
The forward’s decision has angered President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who perceives it as Osimhen complicating Napoli’s situation.
