Lil Durk connected with DJ Akademiks on livestream, sharing that he is picking up Arabic while incarcerated.
“I’ve been doing well, man. Mentally and spiritually, I’ve been on top of my game. I’ll be back out there, you feel me,” he conveyed to Akademiks.
“I’ve just been concentrating on life, my family, and stuff like that. I’m attempting to learn Arabic in here. There are a few guys in here who can speak Arabic fluently, so I’m just picking up the various terms and refining my Arabic. Just enhancing my knowledge,” he continued.

Lil Durk is confronting federal accusations linked to an alleged murder-for-hire scheme associated with the 2022 murder of Lul Pab, cousin to rapper Quando Rondo. Prosecutors assert that Durk orchestrated the hit as retaliation for the 2020 death of his artist and close friend, King Von, arranging travel and other benefits for the assailants.

The rapper was apprehended in Florida in October 2024 and charged with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, among other charges. If found guilty, he could face a life sentence. Durk has entered a not guilty plea and is being held without bail. His trial is slated for October 2025.
Recently, his father disclosed that the rapper has assisted 13 of his fellow inmates in converting to Islam since his incarceration.
