Meek Mill and Sean “Diddy” Combs were once such good friends that they even coordinated their attire, but after being named in a lawsuit involving the disgraced music mogul, alleging he was one of Diddy’s romantic partners, Meek has made significant efforts to separate himself from the controversy.
In a conversation with Complex, Meek Mill expressed that he has consistently avoided attending any of Diddy’s “Freak Off” gatherings. According to the Philadelphia rapper, he would never enter a place that contradicts his principles.
“I’m being completely transparent about it, discussing it openly while [Diddy’s] on trial to clarify that I am not connected to Puff Daddy’s intimate affairs or personal matters and never have been,” he disclosed to the media.
Meek also shared his perspective on the outcome of Diddy’s trial.
“Puff is contending with a potential life sentence. I’m the first Black man to speak on this. I don’t agree with anything I’ve observed, nor with anything he’s involved in regarding domestic violence or related issues,” he continued, “But I’m a Black man. If I witness another Black man falter, I’m not here to mock, and I don’t want to see you fall any further. You must take responsibility for the choices you make. Even if you’ve erred, I don’t want to see any Black man perish before my eyes.”
Diddy remains incarcerated as he awaits his sentencing, which could result in a maximum of 20 years behind bars.
