A self-proclaimed prophet has been detained for allegedly s@xually assaulting a first-year student from Ekiti State University. This information comes from the Ekiti State Police Department.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Joseph Eribo, revealed this during a press conference in Ado-Ekiti over the weekend, noting that additional suspects were apprehended for armed robbery, s@xual assault, and unlawful possession of weapons.
“In Iworoko Ekiti, a self-proclaimed Prophet, Ajayi Oluwatoyin, was detained for s@xually assaulting a 20-year-old first-year student of Ekiti State University,” he stated.
Eribo mentioned that these arrests are part of the command’s renewed efforts to eliminate criminal elements from the state.He detailed that two suspects, Bolaji Kazeem and Isa Sikirulahi, were taken into custody with a homemade firearm loaded with a live round and a battle axe while riding a TVS NEO motorcycle in the Isato area of Ado-Ekiti.
He added that another stolen motorcycle was subsequently recovered from their hideout in Omisanjana.The commissioner also noted that one Abolaji Rasheed, known as B.J., from Owena in Osun State, was caught trying to steal a motorcycle along Igbara Odo Road, Ogotun-Ekiti, as his accomplices managed to escape.
Additionally, two other suspects, Mohammed Jamiu and Ahmed, were arrested for stealing a Toyota Cabster vehicle parked by its owner at Tipper Garage in the Ijigbo area of Ado-Ekiti.Furthermore, in Aramoko, a suspect, Ajetomobi Ayomide, was apprehended by officers for repeatedly defiling an eight-year-old girl and threatening to kill her if she revealed the incidents.
