The Church Tend To Avoid The Subject of Love – Johnny Drille

Nigerian artist and songwriter, Johnny Drille, has voiced his concerns regarding the Christian community. This comes as he expressed dissatisfaction with their criticism of his performances in churches.

The Mavin Records musician shared his thoughts during a recent episode of the CreativiTEA podcast. He also emphasized that his music transcends conventional Christian realms. He mentioned, “I have a deep love for God and am actively engaged in church life, but I’ve never truly believed that my music was suited for church settings.

Occasionally, I find myself invited to play in churches, which is rather intriguing.“I’ve faced some criticism from the Christian community whenever I perform in churches.

However, the reality is that my music promotes positivity. It addresses topics that the church often avoids discussing.

”The artist continued to assert that the church frequently overlooks discussions surrounding love, a vital and spiritual theme in his view.He concluded, “The church tends to shy away from the subject of love.

At Christian weddings, you typically hear songs by artists like Davido and Wizkid. What if the church decided to start producing their own Christian love songs?”
