The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, OAGF, has announced that an upgrade to its Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS, will not delay the disbursement of salaries for October.
OAGF spokesperson Bawa Mokwa communicated this information in a statement issued on Wednesday. This clarification comes in light of concerns that the software upgrade of IPPIS could cause a postponement in the payment of October salaries.
OAGF specified that the IPPIS system used to operate on three payroll platforms. As reported by the Federal Government agency, in 2024, one of those platforms was successfully transitioned to the “SoftSuite” application – leaving the system with two operational platforms: EBS and SoftSuite. It was noted that due to the less than optimal performance of the EBS platform, the Federal Government has opted to unify all payroll functions under the SoftSuite application.
OAGF emphasized that this decision is not a recent change but a continuation of a previous effort to improve effectiveness and precision.“The OAGF underscored that integrating all payroll operations onto a single platform has been meticulously managed, and while minor issues may arise during the transition, all detected errors and discrepancies are being swiftly addressed. Management does not expect any major interruptions.“ The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation reassures all federal employees and stakeholders that their October salaries remain secure and will be disbursed as planned.
Treasury and IPPIS personnel are urged to dismiss the erroneous reports that did not originate from the OAGF.“For reliable and verified information, the public is encouraged to rely solely on communications from the OAGF,” the statement asserts. This comes as federal government employees await their salaries for October in the coming days.
