Reports came out on Sunday night saying that an officer named Lt. Ahmed Yerima was being followed by some people in two unmarked Hilux vans that didn’t have license plates.
The people were dressed in black. The FCT Police Command said they don’t believe a viral story that claims a naval officer, who had a big argument with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, was tried to be killed.
The same reports said the officer was followed from the NIPCO Filling Station near the Line Expressway a ll the way to Gado Nasco Way by these two vans. But the FCT Police, through their spokesperson Josephine Adeh, said there was no such event in Abuja.
She said;
“The Command wants to clearly say that there is no record of this happening in the Federal Capital Territory. “The public is asked to ignore this false news and not share unconfirmed stories that can create worry.”For the safety of everyone, we ask the public to stay alert and let the nearest Police Division know about any strange things they see,” Josephine said.
