Stop Having Fun With Others’ Private Struggle -Sean Dampte

Sean Dampte, an Afrobeats artist, has asked people to be mature, kind, and careful when talking about celebrities’ marriage problems. He used the example of Regina Daniels and Senator Ned Nwoko’s marriage.

He spoke up during a time when a lot of people were sharing opinions online. Dampte warned against making others’ private struggles into something for social media entertainment.

He said,

“Marriage isn’t something you can watch on Instagram or Twitter. For every story you think you understand, there are many things you don’t see. Regina is a young woman who gets a lot of attention. This situation needs empathy and thoughtful talk, not jokes.”

Dampte also talked about how today’s online culture is often focused on gossip and drama, which can make people less compassionate. He said, “People today want to make others’ pain go viral, but in the end, these are real people with real feelings, real families, and real consequences.”He encouraged other entertainers and social media influencers to be smart and kind when they talk about emotional issues.

He added,

“As entertainers, we need to be careful about how we speak about sensitive topics. Let them deal with their own issues privately. Not everything is meant for public show.” He finished by saying, “Social media is noisy, but peace is quiet. Sometimes the best support is just being quiet and praying for them.”
