Tension happened on Tuesday at the main entrance of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria. Several rounds of bullets were said to fall from a fast-moving passenger bus on the Zaria-Katsina road.
A video shared on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-terrorism group, showed the event taking place right in front of the university gate, causing confusion among students, people walking by, and drivers.According to the report, an eyewitness named Musa said the bullets came from a commercial bus going to Katsina.
“We suddenly saw the bullets fall from the bus as it went by the gate. Before people could realize what was happening, the vehicle was gone,” he said.
Musa said some people nearby quickly picked up the scattered bullets and told the security guards who were close by.Another student, who didn’t want to share their name, called the moment “strange and scary,” saying many were worried the items could be part of “supplies for criminals” active in areas of Kaduna and Katsina.
Makama said security officers later arrived at the scene and took the bullets away.
