Wale Adenuga responds to Papa Ajasco actor Abiodun Ayoyinka’s financial struggle claims, dismissing allegations of neglect and setting the record straight.

Adenuga Reacts to Viral Claims by Abiodun Ayoyinka

Veteran filmmaker Wale Adenuga has addressed the growing controversy surrounding Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, who recently claimed he is facing financial hardship despite decades on the iconic TV series.

Ayoyinka’s comments quickly went viral, sparking widespread concern among fans of Papa Ajasco and Company. Many questioned how such a recognizable figure from the long-running show could allegedly be struggling.

‘Claims Are Misleading’ — Adenuga Sets the Record Straight

In an official statement, Adenuga, CEO of Wale Adenuga Productions, firmly denied allegations that the actor was neglected or exploited.

He described the public reaction as driven by incomplete information, emphasizing that the narrative circulating online is “false and misleading.”

According to him, his initial reaction to the viral video suggested Ayoyinka may be leveraging public sympathy for online engagement.

“It appears he has taken the Papa Ajasco brand into social media—and it seems to be working for him,” Adenuga noted.

Longstanding Relationship, No Fallout

Adenuga maintained that Ayoyinka remains an important part of the Papa Ajasco legacy, highlighting his close resemblance to the original character created in 1976.

He also dismissed rumors of any serious dispute between them.

“There has been no irreconcilable difference,” Adenuga clarified, adding that his response aims to preserve the integrity of a brand that has entertained millions of Nigerians.

Support, Benefits, and Career Background Revealed

Addressing claims of neglect, Adenuga outlined several ways the company has supported Ayoyinka over the years:

  • Provision of vehicles at different times
  • Flexible work arrangements during his civil service career
  • Continued inclusion in productions

He also revealed that Ayoyinka:

  • Worked over 30 years as a Lagos State civil servant
  • Recently retired with benefits
  • Owns property in Ogun State

Brand Protection vs. Career Freedom

Adenuga clarified that rules surrounding the use of the “Papa Ajasco” name are standard industry practice aimed at protecting intellectual property.

Importantly, he stressed that actors are free to pursue other opportunities.

“All that is required is approval—it’s about brand protection, not limiting anyone’s livelihood,” he explained.

Questions Over ‘Financial Struggles’ Claim

The filmmaker questioned the basis of Ayoyinka’s claims, pointing to his long public service career and retirement entitlements.

He also cited other cast members of Papa Ajasco and Company—including Pa James, Boy Alinco, and Miss Pepeiye—who continue to thrive in other productions without restrictions.

‘No Exploitation’ — Company Defends Its Practices

Adenuga firmly rejected any suggestion of exploitation, stating that:

  • Actors are paid according to industry standards
  • Filming schedules allow time for other income streams
  • The company consistently meets its obligations

“Any claim of abandonment or exploitation is completely false,” he concluded.

As the Papa Ajasco controversy continues to trend, Adenuga reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, professionalism, and maintaining strong relationships with his cast.

He also thanked fans for their concern, urging the public to rely on verified information rather than viral narratives.
