Zubby Michael Eyes House of Reps Seat After Joining ADC in Anambra
Popular Nollywood star Zubby Michael has taken his political involvement a step further by expressing interest in contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives.
The actor, who recently became a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), revealed his ambition to represent the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency of Anambra State.
Zubby made this known on Saturday shortly after completing his party registration in Ozubulu Ward 5, located within Ekwusigo Local Government Area.
His declaration comes amid growing political participation by entertainers in Nigeria, especially in the South-East region. In recent times, several public figures have aligned themselves with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of efforts to rally support for Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
These celebrity-driven campaigns, including movements like the APC City Boys initiative, have continued to gain traction across the region.
However, Zubby Michael’s decision to associate with an opposition platform has sparked discussions among political observers, with many suggesting that his move could influence voter sentiment, particularly in Anambra State.
As preparations gradually begin for the 2027 elections, his entry into partisan politics is expected to add a new dynamic to the race within his constituency.
