JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Day 1 Results for Over 600,000 Candidates

The examination, which began on Thursday, April 16, 2026, marks the start of this year’s nationwide tertiary entrance assessment.

How to Check Your 2026 UTME Result

According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, candidates who sat for the exam on Day 1 can now check their scores.

To access your result, simply:

  • Send “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019
  • Use the same phone number (SIM) you registered with during UTME registration

At the moment, candidates can only view their results, as printing of official result slips is not yet available.

JAMB Issues Strong Warning on Result Manipulation

JAMB has raised serious concerns about attempts to manipulate results. The board warned candidates and parents against:

  • Altering SMS result messages
  • Using AI tools or digital methods to falsify scores

The board described such actions as criminal offences, revealing that two candidates and one parent are already in custody over alleged result falsification.

2026 UTME Continues Nationwide

The 2026 UTME is scheduled to run from April 16 to April 25, 2026, across 959 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

JAMB also confirmed that results for candidates who write on subsequent days will be released in batches as marking and processing are completed.

What This Means for Candidates

The early release of Day 1 results highlights JAMB’s commitment to transparency and efficiency. Candidates can now:

  • Quickly assess their performance
  • Begin preparations for post-UTME screenings
  • Make informed decisions about their admission prospects

As the examination continues, candidates are advised to stay patient and follow only official channels for updates.
