WWE Legend ‘ REY MYSTERIO SET TO OFFICIALLY RETIRE.

WWE legend, Rey Mysterio is set to officially call it time on his illustrious career in wrestling at a retirement ceremony on Monday Night Raw next week.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced a statement on Twitter that read: “@WWERollins (Seth Rollins) will be the host of @reymysterio’s retirement ceremony next week on #WWERaw.”

The WWE also made a follow-up announcement that Seth Rollins will be the host for Mysterio’s retirement ceremony.

The 45-year-old,whose real name is Oscar Gutierrez, is widely regarded as the greatest cruiserweight in professional wrestling history. The Mexican-American professional wrestler began performing at a young age and made his wrestling debut in Mexico in 1989.

Mysterio, who wears masks for his fights, made his name at the World Championship Wrestling in 1995, where he popularised the high-flying lucha libre fighting style.

He won a number of championships during his time with the company, including the WCW Cruiserweight Championship and the WCW World Tag Team Championship. After WCW closed in 2001, Mysterio returned to Mexico, briefly wrestling for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), before signing with WWE in 2002

The WWE legend will retire as a two-time Intercontinental champion, two-time United States Champion, a four-time tag-team champion, a three-time Cruiserweight champion, and a three-time world champion. He is also the winner of the 2006 Royal Rumble.
