After the two months pause of football due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Italian football resumed on Friday as Juventus cruised to the final of the Coppa Italia on away goals after playing a 0-0 draw with AC Milan.
Before kick-off, both clubs held a minute silence for those who died from COVID-19, while Milan had warmed up in ‘Black Lives Matter’ shirts.
The two teams drew 1-1 in the first leg of the semi-final at San Siro in February and on Friday night Juventus failed to slot a goal past Milan who played with 10 men for almost 75minutes, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty miss almost proving a costly error for the Bianconeri who would have exited the competition if Milan had scored.
Juve will now meet either Inter or Napoli in the final which will be their 19th Copa Itali final appearance, and their 14th Coppa success if they win.
