CBN – Abuse Nigerian Currency Go To Jail says the Central Bank of Nigeria to all and sundry as the power house expresses displeasure at the rate of naira abuse.
The financial power house has expressed displeasure at the rate at which Nigerians and non – citizens ‘mutilate, deface, squeeze and even spray and sell’ the naira notes during memorable occasions such as weddings and funerals, etc.
The CBN has again warned that anyone caught defacing the naira will be arrested and sent to jail.
The Assistant Director at the Currency Operations Department, Aladeen Badajo made the statement during the commencement of the CBN two-day sensitisation fair held in Abeokuta, Ogun state on June 10.
