Actress Sola Sobowale has once again confirmed that professional Film maker Kemi Adetiba gave her fresh shot at fame in the movie industry.
The veteran who disclosed this during an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, also talked about her lead role as Eniola Salami in Adetiba’s King of Boys.
While talking on her relationship with the filmmaker, Sobowale noted that Adetiba knows her more than she knows herself.
“There’s something about Kemi Adetiba. Kemi Adetiba will tell you who Sola Sobowale is. I don’t even know myself. Kemi knows me more than I know myself,” Sobowale said.
She added, “Kemi Adetiba brought me out. I will say it anywhere. I don’t mind if it sounds like a broken record. I will echo it. I will sing it. I will shout it. She brought me out.”
Sobowale also disclosed that she has never watched herself in movies but she had to watch her very own performance in King of Boys.
“I don’t watch myself but I had to watch myself during King of Boys,” the veteran added.
Although she joined Nollywood in 1992, She became popular in 2001 when she played the role of “Toyin Tomato” in Wale Adenuga’s Thursday family drama Super Story.
She recalled experiencing renewed fame in Kemi Adetiba’s Wedding Party, which was released in 2016. And in 2018, Adetiba’s King of Boys shot the actress to another realm of stardom due to her alpha female role and the strong personality she exhibited in the movie.
Speaking of her role in the movie, the actress added, “You know you can do something but that opportunity never came.”
