Comedian Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, has revealed that certain film producers obtain substantial amounts from streaming services to create high-budget films but often allocate only 10% of the money for the actual production, using the remainder to purchase properties and vehicles.
This statement comes in light of reports indicating that NETFLIX has ceased providing Nigerian filmmakers with financial support for original content.

In an interview with Arise TV, Basketmouth remarked;
‘’There was significant wealth in the film industry when these streaming platforms emerged. They distributed funds to the producers. These producers would take the funds, whether it’s $1.5bn or some other figure, and spend roughly 10% of that on making the film. They are listening! They cannot refute it. I cannot name names, but you know who you are.”
