Bill Gates Calls His Divorce a Big Mistake: What We Can Learn

Bill Gates, 69, expressed that his separation from Melinda Gates, 60, after 27 years of matrimony will always be the thing he regrets most in his life.

“I feel more optimistic now,” he revealed in an interview with the Times of London, published Saturday, but noted that the disintegration of his marriage is “the blunder I most lament.”

He acknowledged that he might have other setbacks, but the Microsoft co-founder, 69, stated that the divorce is “at the forefront of the list.”

“There are others, but none that hold significance,” he mentioned. “The divorce was distressing for both me and Melinda for at least two years.”

The couple, who are both seeing different partners now, have maintained an amicable relationship post-separation.

“Melinda and I still meet — we have three children and two grandchildren, so there are family gatherings. The kids are thriving. They possess good values,” Bill stated.

In another part of the profile, the billionaire mentioned that the couple’s union kept him “anchored” while he was building his trillion-dollar enterprise.

Bill and Melinda tied the knot in 1994 and share children Jennifer, 28, Rory, 25, and Phoebe, 22. The couple announced their separation in May 2021, although they had been living apart for a year prior to the announcement.
