COURT DISMISSES LAND CASE BY Chimamanda Adichie’s KINSMEN.

Kinsmen of a famous writer, Chimamanda Adichie, on Monday lost a motion to amend an application in a land dispute between the Abba and Ukpo communities in Anambra State.

Adichie had several times alleged that a certain oil magnate in Ukpo was masterminding the takeover of her kinsmen’s land.

Some indigenes of Abba community had approached a high court in the state to bring in fresh witnesses/applicants in the feud following the demise of former applicants on the matter.

But ruling on the motion on Tuesday, an Anambra High Court, sitting at Neni in the Anaocha Local Government Area of the state and presided over by Justice Onyinye Anumonye, rejected the application.

He said the Supreme Court judgment on the matter on 15th of February 2019 had settled the matter and therefore could not be revisited in any guise.

He said, “The ruling of the Supreme Court is final and its finality is unchallengeable.

“The judgment of the Supreme Court on the consolidated matter before the Supreme Court on the 15th February 2019 dealt extensively on the issues in the Ukpo/Abba community case, which forms part of the issues in the motion before me.”

Bluebloodz.com has learnt that -the land case between Abba and Ukpo communities had lingered for over 50 years.
