A public uproar has emerged following the disclosure by the partner of a well-known media figure, referred to as “Egungun of Lagos,” regarding a current blackmail situation.
In a series of comprehensive posts, she detailed how an unidentified extortionist is threatening to release a personal video of her spouse unless certain monetary demands are addressed.
In her remarks, she stated that the video, meant as a private communication between her husband and herself, was shared without their authorization.
Defending her husband’s integrity, she highlighted his loyalty throughout their union, asserting: “My husband has never been unfaithful to me (nor I to him). Our relationship is built on trust, comprehension, allegiance, and commitment.”
She also disclosed her substantial involvement in directing her husband’s professional path, expressing steadfast confidence in him despite the malicious efforts to damage their reputation. She further encouraged the public not to be influenced by the blackmailer’s intentions: “This will not destroy my marriage because we are established on a foundation stronger than controversy.”
Screenshots of the extortionist’s communications accompanied her posts, revealing threats to worsen the scenario by leaking the footage to news platforms. The blackmailer purportedly cautioned, “You can opt to disregard this, but once he ( Egungun of Lagos ) starts trending, you will regret your choices.”
Despite the troubling nature of the occurrence, she concluded her message with appreciation and hope, wishing her followers a Merry Christmas and promising updates on forthcoming family endeavors.
