The Flashblood is a new practice among sex workers who are poor . it involves the passage of syringe full of blood from one who has injected hard drugs such as heroine to another who wants to get high on drugged blood without having to directly inject the heroine. This process is also termed ” bluetoothing “.
Meanwhile, another report elaborates that sex workers in Murambinda are consciously injecting themselves with the blood of drug addicts in a bid to share from their existing intoxication. The sex workers inject themselves with the blood of the addicts so that they can get high and confident enough to meet with their potential clients as well as to cater for their spontaneous sexual demands which of late have included dangerous anal sex and blow jobs.
A microplanner under the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) funded Microplanning program being implemented by the National Aids Council (NAC) Tafadzwa Dinga confirmed the development.
Angela Matizanadzo another microplanner in Murambinda, said it was not surprising that sex workers in the district were drug users given the spontaneity of the sexual demands of their clients.
