Teyana Taylor has decided to forgo her scheduled appearance on Michelle Obama’s IMO podcast in order to have surgery to excise a tumor on her vocal cord.
The 34-year-old singer/actress revealed on August 6 that she will be undergoing a procedure to eliminate a benign (non-cancerous) growth.
“I’ve been quietly managing some vocal issues for a while now,” Teyana shared on her Instagram Story. She mentioned that her physician “discovered a noncancerous mass on one of my vocal cords that’s been interfering with my voice and causing substantial discomfort.”
She added, “Fortunately, we caught it in time & it’s something that can be treated — but it does require me to take a step back and allow myself the time to completely recover.”
