I WILL LEAD Kano-Kaduna BOUNDARY PATROL on Sallah day — El-Rufai

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Tuesday said he would patrol the Kano – Kaduna boundary during the eid-el-fitri so that nobody from Kano State would sneak into his state.

The governor said it was part of measures to check the spread of the deadly coronavirus into the state.

The eid-el-fitri which marks the end of Ramadan is slated for Saturday or Sunday.

Speaking during a media chat with selected radio stations in Kaduna on Tuesday, the governor said he would ensure that nobody entered the state through the Kano – Kaduna entry points as he would personally man the border.

“I will ensure that I personally visit and patrol the Kaduna-Kano boundary on Sallah day and I will remain there from morning till night to see who will dare enter Kaduna State. I will not leave there until late at night,” the governor said.

El-Rufai blamed the influx of people on some corrupt security agents, saying that they were sabotaging government’s efforts in curtailing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the state government has again shut  all entry points into the state, according to the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan.

Aruwan in a statement said  it had sealed all entry points into the state to all travellers including those transporting food and other essential services between 6pm and 6am.
