Jo Wilson 37-year-old Sky Sports host has heart wrenchingly announced she has been diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer bluebloodz.com has learned.
Jo who lives in the Cotswolds with her partner Dan, 42 and 2 year old daughter Mabel, disclosed that her gynaecologist spotted the signs of deadly cancer when she went for her smear test in June.
After more tests was conducted , it was fully confirmed that the stage 3b cervical cancer had spread to two of her lymph nodes.
Wilson began hosting Sky Sports since 2015, and is reportedly undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy after the diagnosis this summer. She has also lost weight due to the harsh effect the radiation treatment on her body.
Wilson also revealed that she has never defaulted in getting a Smear Test until after the traumatic birthing process she went through while giving birth to her daughter in September 2020, from which they both caught sepsis, she delayed going for a smear.
“I said to the doctor ‘Am I going to die?’” admits Wilson. “‘You’re not going to die,’ he reassured me. ‘It’s very treatable, and it’s very curable.’
She urged other women to get their smear test by saying: “I don’t want anyone to have to go through what I am right now.”
