JUPEB also known as the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board has been hit with allegations of examination malpractices ( illegalities ) as ICPC and DSS arrests 48.
The arrested individuals comprises of University Lecturers , Tutorial center owners, ICT Specialists, Security personnel’s of some academic institutions in the country –
- Wellspring University, Benin, Edo State;
- Christopher University, Mowe, Ogun State
- Crown-Hill University, Ilorin, Kwara State.
- The raid of tutorial centres in McPherson and Precious Cornerstone universities in Ibadan and Ilara-Epe, in Oyo State
Top notch intelligence report gathered during the mission of the operatives [ ICPC and DSS ] showed active connivance and involvement of the parents of the Jupeb students and the universities management.
More Investigation obtained by Punch revealed that the candidates, who are mostly underage , allegedly pay between N350,000 to N500,000 each to the suspects in the various tutorial schools [ centers ] to engage in the examination malpractices.
After payment and confirmation is made, coordinators of the examination centers and other management staff of the institutions, willingly allow security loop holes to enable the candidates who have paid bribe go into examination halls with smart-phones and other electronic devices to send question papers to waiting social media groups online and of course receive answers to questions thereby engaging in massive malpractices.
As at the time of this report, with investigation on-going. The ICPC and DSS have already granted administrative bail to the arrested suspects.
