Kelly Rowland issued a caution to her supporters to be wary of a scam circulating on social platforms. The mother of two expressed her concern that her followers might inadvertently hand over their hard-earned cash to the con artist.
The scheme involved sending direct messages on social media from an account that mimics Rowland’s official handle.
The message in the DM states: “Hey, this is Kelly from Destiny’s Child, I misplaced my credit card and I need funds for a flight ticket so I can travel to your city to perform. Can you lend me some money?” The fraudster even claimed: “Hello, this is Beyoncé.”
Kelly shared a screenshot of the message, accompanied by a cautionary note: “Be cautious out there!” She emphasized with “FAKE AF!!”
Kelly pointed out: “I know how to spell P-L-A-N-E.”
Her appreciative fans expressed their gratitude for the heads-up.
One individual commented: “If you tag any artist in a concert picture, there’s a 90% likelihood you’ll receive a DM from someone claiming to be that artist’s manager trying to con you. They are unyielding.”
Another admirer remarked: “She didn’t even have to do all that, but okay.”
A third fan noted: “When Kelly Rowland speaks, we heed! Stay alert, everyone; these scammers don’t just misspell; they completely disregard integrity.”
