Recently, an individual was apprehended at the Luohu Port after customs agents uncovered weed oil hidden in his sock. The confiscated substance weighed 16.14 grams.
As per customs documentation, the event took place when officers observed a passenger behaving suspiciously, evading eye contact as he proceeded through the customs inspection area without declaring any possessions. This raised the need for further scrutiny.
During the investigation, customs agents discovered an electronic vape and a questionable cartridge tucked inside the man’s left sock. Further analysis established that the liquid within the cartridge tested positive for cannabis.
Chinese customs officials have emphasized that cannabis is categorized as a controlled narcotic according to the 2013 Narcotic Drugs List. The nation upholds stringent regulations regarding the usage and transportation of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
In line with Article 347 of the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China, the act of smuggling or transporting drugs, irrespective of quantity, carries criminal liability and repercussions.
