Mason Greenwood Manchester United striker
has been excluded from the EA Sports’ FIFA 22 video game due to his ongoing sexual allegations.
The England international has been alleged to have physically and sexually assaulted his girlfriend and is currently being investigated by the Great Manchester Police.
On Sunday January 30, implicating images and audio of pleas which fell on deaf ears emerged from his girlfriend, showing the world what she suffers in the hands of Greenwood.
Manchester United FC has already released an official statement, saying the club would not tender any further comment until the facts had been established and saying: “The Club does not condone violence of any kind.”
The club however has confirmed that Greenwood wouldn’t be training while investigations are still ongoing, and he also isn’t available for selection for interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
Following the latest update for the title, which was released on all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on Tuesday, February 1, 2021, Greenwood no longer features on the game’s offline modes.
He’s been removed from United’s squad and also can’t be drafted into the virtual England team.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Greenwood’s FIFA 2022 Ultimate team term remains active. And the striker is still tradable on the FUT 22 transfer market. Greenwood was rated 79 out of 99 at the time of his removal, with a potential rating of 90.
Due to the allegations Cadbury also announced that he wouldn’t feature on any of their marketing products, while Nike have also distanced themselves from him.
