Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, has reportedly appealed to the leadership of the NANS to re-evaluate its decision to occupy the nation’s airports from Monday in protest against ongoing strike action by the ASUU.
The group made the appeal in a statement jointly signed by its National Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi, and National Secretary, Dr. Nasir Balogun, reminded the student association that street protests leading to blockage of federal highways, access to airports and disruption of flights would lead to a breakdown of law and order.
The Media Group also elaborated that in Nigeria, when lawful protests were set in motion, miscreants and unpatriotic citizens usually hijacked such lawful protests to wreak havoc on the people like what was witnessed during #EndSARS protests 2 years ago.
They without hesitation, appealed to Nigerian students to allow peace to be their guide and exercise a little patience as they await the final court verdict on the issue.
The group also urged President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to take urgent steps to end the FG /ASUU face off in the overall interest of the students and the country at large.
