NELFUND Call Out 203 Institutions Over Student Data

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has unveiled a roster of 203 higher education institutions that neglected to submit their students’ data for the 2024/2025 student loan application process.

Additionally, it has declared the reopening of the portal for a span of 48 hours to permit non-compliant institutions to fulfill this requirement.According to The Guardian, institutions must upload their students’ details onto the agency’s Student Loan Application System (SLAS), which facilitates the loan application for students.

A statement released late Friday by the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, mentioned that the portal will be live from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, to 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The spokesperson indicated that this extension aims to guarantee that all qualifying students are properly recorded and validated by their respective institutions as part of the ongoing 2024/2025 NELFUND loan application endeavor.

Institutions are strongly urged to take full advantage of this final chance. Not completing the verification process within the given timeframe will result in the involved institutions losing their chance to participate in the current loan cycle, ultimately harming their students who are the primary beneficiaries of the loan program,” the statement articulates
