The Federal republic of nigeria at the inaugural Chandler Good Governance Index launched on Monday (26th April 2021) in Singapore ranked third worst in Global Good Governance Index.
The ranking was done based on 34 indicators that are Organised into 7 pillars. They are –
• Leadership and Foresight • Strong institutions • Robust laws and policies •Financial Stewardship • Attractive Market place • Global influence • Reputation.
The ranking taps into 50 publicly available global data sources such as – United Nations, World Bank, World Trade Organization.
Nigeria scored 0.329 points to sit atop 102 out of 104 countries on the league table that measures 104 Government’s effectiveness and capabilities in almost 90% of the world’s population.
Mauritius took the 38th spot in the world with an index score of 0.5670 , thus emerging Africa’s best performer.
