In a recent proclamation on his official X account, former presidential contender and political economist, Pat Utomi, has denounced the governance of Nigeria’s 10th Senate.
This announcement followed the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who had alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio committed sexual harassment.

Utomi expressed his opinions and criticized the manner in which the Senate approached the matter, questioning the integrity of several prominent senators. He also referenced Akpabio’s prior conduct during the tenure of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, as well as Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele’s previous legal struggle over an unjust expulsion from the University of Benin.
“It is intriguing that Sen Akpabio, who demonstrated worse behavior under Saraki, and Opeyemi Bamidele, whose UNIBEN expulsion was revoked due to lack of fairness, in a lawsuit led by FFalana SAN, could preside over the farce occurring in the Senate,” Pat Utomi remarked.
Utomi’s critique has intensified the scrutiny on the Senate leadership, with many Nigerians eagerly observing the developments of this situation.
