Prof. Philip Njemanze, a prominent international neuroscientist and member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), asserts that Jesus Christ was actually an Igbo man who was both born and crucified in Owerri, Imo State.
According to his research, Jesus Christ’s original name was Mmanuelu, which over time became corrupted to Emmanuel.
Furthermore, he states that Jesus was crucified at Ugwu Ekwema, a significant location in Igbo culture.
Additionally, Professor Njemanze suggests that the Iriji festival, also known as the New Yam festival, was originally a commemoration of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, known as Mmanuelu in Igbo tradition.
In his findings, he also mentions that Jesus’ father’s name was Njensoafo, which has been altered over time to Joseph.
