Siyanda Magagu, a 35-year-old man from South Africa, was arrested for kidnapping and murdering his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son, Anganam Magxwalisa, on Father’s Day.
The incident took place in Xholora township, Stutterheim, Eastern Cape. Magagu appeared in court on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, and has been remanded in custody.
It is reported that he took the child from his cousin under the pretense of buying him sweets, following an argument with the child’s mother. The family is in shock, as Magagu had been a part of the child’s life since he was two months old.
The mother reported the child missing, leading to the discovery of his body hanging from a tree. Magagu, who works as a taxi driver, was apprehended by the police early on Sunday morning.
