Two teenagers aged 17 have been apprehended by law enforcement in Shanghai ’s Huangpu District for relieving themselves into a hotpot at a HaiDiLao eatery. Local officials announced the detentions on March 8 following an event that transpired on February 24.
As per the police reports, the two suspects, recognized as Tang and Wu, were enjoying a meal in a private area when they became inebriated. They allegedly scaled the dining table and urinated into the hotpot. Wu further worsened the scenario by sharing a video of the incident online.
HaiDiLao has reacted by submitting reports to several law enforcement bodies and is entirely cooperating with the investigation. The restaurant has declared its intention to take legal action against those involved, regardless of whether the episode was scripted or not.
