UNIBEN Management has reportedly banned private commercial tutorials, particularly for 100 level students from being conducted in lecture halls in the two campuses.
In the Memo obtained by bluebloodz.com, The Management of the University is even more appalled that such tutorials are conducted in lecture halls/theatres in the two campuses, 9am to 4pm and from Mondays to Saturdays when students are expected to be attending lectures duly approved by the University.
Consequently, Management has directed that the use of the Institution’s facilities, especially lecture halls/theatres, should be monitored by Deans, Directors, Heads of Department, lecturers and all staff to prevent unauthorized persons from carrying out their apparently illegal tutorials, usually under the guise of ‘orientation meetings’ with 100 level students.
Any of such ‘meetings’ or tutorials should be brought to the attention of security officers while the security officers are to intensify their patrol of the campuses.
Those involved in organising such tutorials, their collaborators and the tutors are hereby warned to stay away from the lecture halls as security agents have been directed to arrest anyone found culpable or seen to be supporting the operation of private commercial tutorials within the Ugbowo and Ekehuan Campuses of the University.
